Is counselling for you?

Approaching counselling can be a daunting prospect for many people. Many worry that their problem is not serious enough to be shared with a counsellor or that they will struggle to talk about issues that are deeply personal and distressing to them.  Whatever your issue(s), if it's causing you distress and negatively impacting your wellbeing, your relationships and your life, then counselling may be able to help.

If you are worried about beginning counselling, we can discuss any of your immediate concerns via email or phone.  If you feel comfortable moving forward, we will then set up an initial appointment which enables me to determine if I am the best counsellor for you and for you to assess if you will feel happy working with me.  This session will also allow us to work out what you hope to achieve in counselling and the time frame you wish to work in.

Whilst counselling can be a challenging process, it can, ultimately be hugely beneficial.  It may improve your emotional and psychological well-being, help you manage difficult life events and improve the quality of your relationships.  It may help you regain perspective and control over a situation that feels overwhelming or out-of-control.  And, it may help you move forward with a renewed sense of confidence and self-belief in yourself and  your abilities.
